All of our Home Studies are finished!

Wow...all three of our Home Studies have been completed!  We are finished until post-placement.  Sorry we haven't been blogging...we have had a lot going on with not much to write about on the blog.  Hopefully more will come in the days ahead.  Bear with us!  :)

We covet your prayers for our family and the adoption.  We need the Lord to move in a mighty way!

Until next time...

Tidbits

Today it snowed...such a wonderful, majestic sight!  (Creation proclaims the Creator's name, loud and clear!)  As I watch the snow fall, I think about my little brothers, with whom we will, one day, share life's special moments!  I get excited just thinking about it!

We will be starting on our dossier (formal paperwork) as soon as we finish Craig Church Ministries' tax work...whenever that is!  It is a busy time right now, so please pray for patience!  :)

We will try to keep you updated as best we can.

Until next time...

First Home Study Completed!!!

Well, I can triumphantly say that we have finished our first of three Home Studies!  Thank you for all your prayers!  Everything went very well.  We enjoyed getting to know our social worker and will schedule our next Home Study visit in the next couple of days.  Discussing the boys has deepened our desire to have them come home!

Until next time...

Starting Our Journey

We have "officially" started our Russia adoption journey to bring home two Asian brothers.  We are so excited!

Before I get into the details, please let me introduce my family.  We are the "Churches" and live in the foothills of North Carolina.  We have always homeschooled and love it more and more each day.  Our family consists of "Daddy, Momma, Taylor (me), Leah, and six cats (icluding our strays)."  We are a family that strives to live for the Lord though, in our human nature, we often fall short.  Our family has a heart for children and the biblical order of the family.

Now, onto the adoption details!!!  I will include some excerpts from our Christmas Adoption Newsletter...

"The story leading up to the adoption is rather lengthy and space will not allow us to communicate all the details at this time.  However, many of you are aware of our tubal reversal and subsequent miscarriage three years ago.  Wanting more children and considering adoption even then, the Lord continued to speak the words, “Wait”…simply wait.  We were unsure if we were waiting on more birth children or waiting for our adoptive children to be born.  Confirmation and peace for the latter has come.  We believe that God has ordained, before the beginning of time, these children to be trained up, discipled, and loved in our family.
We are committed to act in obedience to the Word of God and His promptings.  The more the Lord challenges, the more we realize how dependent we are upon Him.  But that’s a good thing!  If we could see the future and how everything is going to turn out, it wouldn’t be faith.  “For we walk by faith, not by sight.”  (2 Corinthians 5:7)  “Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.”  (Hebrews 11:1)
We are so thankful that God allowed us to be adopted into His family.  “But when the fullness of the time was come, God sent forth his Son, made of a woman, made under the law, to redeem them that were under the law, that we might receive the adoption of sons.  And because ye are sons, God hath sent forth the Spirit of his Son into your hearts, crying, Abba, Father.  Wherefore thou art no more a servant, but a son; and if a son, then an heir of God through Christ.”  Praise His name for the mercy and grace that was extended to us!  May we do the same.
We ask that you help us pray for two things:  please pray that the boys will be found and be in prayer for the finances of the adoption.  “Being confident of this very thing, that he which hath begun a good work in you will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ.”  (Philippians 1:6)"

During our journey we will post anything from "tid-bits" to short novels.  :)  We would love to have you follow us!  Please keep us in prayer as the Lord brings us to mind!
Until next time...remaining in Him!

P.S. Our first Home Study is tomorrow (01/03/11)!  We will keep you updated!
